At Forrester Lactation, our mission is to help you with all your breastfeeding needs whether it is before your baby is born or afterwards. We also offer flange fittings and bottle refusal consults. We welcome all family types and feeding preferences. Most of our families receive some type of coverage. Susan Forrester, MA, IBCLC, RLC
With over 25 years of experience helping families feed babies, Susan's mission is to help families work towards their personal feeding goals. She is the mother of three grown children, originally from Los Angeles, California. She moved to NY in 1987 to attend graduate school, then relocated in West Hartford, CT, where she started as a La Leche League Leader. Then in 2002, she became an IBCLC -- an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. She has worked in various settings as an IBCLC, but currently focuses her time at her private practice in Farmington, CT where she and her two associates, Lauren & Brittany, serve the Greater Hartford and New Haven Counties.

Lauren Akers, IBCLC, CPD, CLD
Lauren has been working with Susan for over 6 years. The mother of two sons, Lauren is originally from Perth, Australia, then lived in England and Singapore before settling here in Connecticut. She has been a birth and postpartum doula for 14 years. When you hire Lauren, you are receiving an experienced and exceptionally compassionate lactation consultant. She has a great sense of humor and helps to alleviate the challenges & anxieties her families face.

Our professional standards and practices fall under HIPAA legal guidelines which is a a US law designed to provide privacy standards to protect patients' medical records and other health information provided to health plans, doctors, hospitals and other health care providers. These standards provide patients with access to their medical records and more control over how their personal health information is used and disclosed.
Brittany White, RN, IBCLC
New to Forrester Lactation, but not new to working with high needs families, Brittany has worked with babies and their families as a neonatal nurse for over 15 years, and has been licensed as an IBCLC for over a decade. A mother of two young boys, she is from Toronto, Ontario, and lived in England for 3 years before settling in Connecticut. As a lactation consultant, Brittany combines her assessment skills from the neonatal intensive care environment with attachment-focused, holistic care. She is close to the Oxford area and can see families in that area.
